The Peninsula of Datca.

In the west of the Bozburun Peninsula a narrow tongue of land extends into the Greek Island world.
About 100 km ( 62,5 miles) from Marmaris, this Peninsula, after passing trough some of the
most beautiful scenery in Europe, ends at the ancient ruins of Knidos. The Datca Peninsula forms the
geographic border between the north part of the sea, the Aegean Sea, and the south part of the sea,
the Mediterranean Sea, and has magnificiant views towards the Greek Islands of Simi and Rhodes.

The Datca Penisula is rich in archaeological sites, especially characterized by its geographical position,
its geological formation and its botanical and animal richness.

Datca Mesudiye

The peninsula is adorned with numerous little dreamlike bays. The winding mountain road goes from Marmaris
to Datca passing dense forrested mountains and wonderful views/ vistas.
The nicest uncrowded beaches near the city of Datca with are Palamut Bükü and Mesudiye.
You can swim in the sea from April until late autumn, sometimes even until December.
The best holiday time for the discerning tourist is in May-June and in September-October,
in the off-peak seasons.

In the Datca Peninsula there is a mild mediterranean climate, what is very comfortable for Europeans.
The penisula is famous for the high oxygen level of the air. Because of the exposed position of the peninsula
the climate is very pleasant the whole year round: Due to the constant breeze and the surrounding cool sea,
in sommer it is always a little bit cooler and more pleasant than in the famous Turkish bathing resorts.
And in winter the climate on the peninsula doesn´t cool down so much because of the sorrounding warming sea.
Normally in summer it doesn´t rain at all.
